About Leila Buffa and Vic Barberis
Vic Barberis and Leila Buffa explore the art of traditional Paraguayan ceramics using hand-modeling and wood-fired kiln firing techniques. Their pieces, modeled from clay from Areguá, are designed with materials exclusively from their environment.
After modeling, each piece is carefully polished using an ancestral method: by rubbing a smooth stone on the surface, the pores of the clay close, ensuring a natural impermeability, without the addition of glazes. Once dry, the pieces are fired at a low temperature in a kiln using various types of reclaimed wood
