About Kazu Fujiwara
Born in 1958 in Honami, Bizen City, Japan, Kazu Fujiwara is a Japanese ceramic artist whose work is deeply rooted in the traditions of Bizen pottery. Coming from a family with a long ceramic heritage, he has developed a distinctive artistic approach that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary expression. Since his first kiln firing in 1993, his creations have explored the natural beauty of clay and the transformative effects of fire, resulting in organic forms, rich earthy tones, and subtle surface textures. His work has been presented internationally, including at the Setouchi Triennale, Leiden University in the Netherlands, and the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, France.
